The Republican Party Platform is written by the grassroot leaders in the Party. By the time the platform makes it to the national level it has been sifted through every precinct, district, and state convention in America. It is the word and belief of the people.

Whenever I see the so-called 'powers-that-be' making noises about wanting to know how the "people" feel about an issue, I want to thunk them on their collective heads. They know what the people think because they have it in their own hands. They just prefer to ignore it.
