Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the commander of American forces in the region, requested 40,000 additional troops for the surge. Obama pledged three-quarters of the request giving a 30,000 troop commitment.

According to Glenn Beck last night, he stated that McChrystal actually requested 60,000 additional troops with 40,000 being the MINIMUM. Anyone know where Glenn got his information?

Also, Glenn stated that there is an unredacted report by the general on Afghanistan that is "perspective changing".
