I love it! Poor Oba Mao. He was hoping they could ram the so-called "healthcare" bill through before he had to do something about Afghanistan (and in so doing infuriate his base), and before 2010, which is, let's see.... oh yeah, an election year.
It was one of the reasons democrats had to win eventually to put up or shut up. Now they are all mad that Obama cant keep his campaign BS. It was all so easy last year. Remember last December when Democrats wanted Bush to resign so Obama could start fixing things early?
Obama may not care if he loses congress. That is what saved Clinton in 1996, losing congress BIG in 1994. But if he could get something big before that happens he could use it to win in 2012, like Bush did prescription drugs and No Child. But Obama is in a corner he has to raise taxes to do something big unlike Bush.
Imagine President McCain about this time. After vetoing a 1.5T Pelosi stimulus bill paid for by taxes on the rich, President McCain signs a 1T stimulus deficit bill and gives a speech about it creating jobs while holding down the deficit. As the deficit and unemployment rise, democrats are on every show talking about the suffering, how McCain doesn't care, how McCain vetoed the jobs bill for America's Main Street has put us in another depression, all to save the rich some taxes , money they don't even need. All because Republicans love the rich and hate you.
