By Seattle Times staff A SWAT team and police negotiators surrounded a Leschi home in Seattle where the man sought for questioning in the Lakewood police shooting may be hiding. Police responded to the home at East Yesler Way and 32nd Avenue South where police stopped a woman who was leaving the home. She told them Maurice Clemmons was on the property and bleeding, according to a law enforcement source. The woman told police that someone had dropped Clemmons off at the home. The source also said police had received tips about two other properties they needed to search, in Queen Anne and Renton. At 8:44 p.m., Seattle police received information that the person of interest may be in a Leschi home, according to Seattle police spokesman Jeff Kappel. Police are now trying to confirm the identity of the person inside. Police blocked off the street at East Yesler and 30th Avenue South. Police are telling residents to stay indoors and keep their doors locked.

Touching read indeed. We’ve seen the best of men and the worst of men all in the same incident.
TANKS,Mema...
My heart still aches. Christmas is going to be so hard for the families. The love and kindnesses they’re receving now are surely helpful and if I know police departments, that supports continues. May God bless them all.
Thanks for the posting, ((( MarMema )))
I suppose we have Barney Frank and those easy loans to “the under-priviledged” to thank for Clemmons getting those loans. We’re likely still paying for his bail-out loans.
"In charging documents filed Tuesday, prosecutors claimed that Eddie Davis, a 20-year-old Parkland man who shared an address with Clemmons, and his brother aided Clemmons hours after the fatal shooting."
Just great. I was wondering because that home was right across the street from the elementary school and Clemmons spoke about shooting children.
Thank God for Officer Benjamin Kelly.
Sorry if I am obsessing on this. I just had to see where he lived. And now I am going to drive by there sometime next weekend.
You know, I don't doubt it. He sure knew how to play the system.
Thank God for Officer Benjamin Kelly.
Oh my...my heart just sank again. Yes indeed, thank God for Officer Kelly.
You better let me know when you are going to go and then when you get back...talk about obsessing...you haven't seen anything till you've seen me worried. LOL
Thanks MarMema - that drug ring thing is unbefrickenbelievable. (Well, not really.) An ex-con, suspected of being in a drug ring, and has money coming out of the wazu, and they can’t get enough on him to arrest him? I would think part of his parole would be “So Clemmons - we need to account for all of the money you’re using to buy your numerous houses with”. And perhaps get the IRS involved as well.
"The total number of law enforcement officers shot and killed this year is up 19 percent over last year, according to the Christian Science Monitor. More officers have died in ambush incidents this year than in any other since 2000."
"The leader of a Seattle hip-hop/punk band commemorated the assassination with a T-shirt depicting Monfort's face splattered with blood and overlaid with a Seattle Police Department badge under the slogan "Deliver Us From Evil." The other side of the shirt read, "Most of my heroes don't appear on no stamp."
Michelle did a great job on this one. Obama has brought these characters out of the woods boldly, imo.
"Lew Cox, a chaplain for the Des Moines Police Department, told the gathering that the Boston Police Department is sending 100 officers to the public memorial Tuesday at the Tacoma Dome.
The New York City Police Department is sending another 100, he said."
"Charlie Davis, president of the Lakewood YMCA, described just one way police officers contribute to the community. He said city police regularly volunteer at Friday youth nights, and it is taken for granted that they will show up when needed."
"Many who voted for Barack Obama believed his election would finally put an end to this kind of racist hatred. Indeed, he promised to work toward that end. If anything however, his election seems to have emboldened it. Jeremiah Wright should have been a warning."
One they missed....do you know how to alert them to this one?
This is what I believe also. In the '60s, they TALKED a lot about "revolution," etc., scared a few people but now that there is a "black" president, it seems to be what they have all been waiting for. I wonder if Gil Scott-Heron is composing a song to celebrate the murdering monster and his accomplices?
It seems to be a systematic attack across a broad spectrum of those who serve in uniform: Army, Navy, Marines, police officers and Secret Service. In every case, many who had thought about joining or going to work in any of these branches may well decide not to.
