Hate Sarah Palin? She Loves That [Says Palin Plays "Anti-Elitism" Card To Cover-Up "Incompetence']

Hate Sarah Palin? She Loves That Palin, like Richard Nixon, realizes how powerful a weapon contemptuousness toward her can be in the American political landscape.

By Neal Gabler November 29, 2009

It's week three of Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue" book tour, and while she has been met with rapture from her fans, she has received a wave of hostility from the mainstream media. David Letterman devoted four minutes of his monologue on publication day to mocking her. New York Times columnist David Brooks called her a joke, and Newsweek referenced "The Sound of Music," asking on its cover "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Sarah?" Even domestic diva Martha Stewart weighed in, calling her "boring" and "dangerous." Palin is a media punching bag.

Which is exactly the way she likes it. It's not that Palin is a masochist. It's that she realizes how powerful a weapon contemptuousness toward her can be in the political war she will likely be waging in 2012. As commentators revile her, Palin realizes they are also empowering her. Indeed, she is engaged in one of the greatest feats of rope-a-dope in political history. Laugh at her, but you laugh at your peril. She can ride that laughter right into the White House.

Of course, Palin didn't discover the politics of contempt. America was born not only as a protest against English political rule but against a larger sense of English superiority. What distinguished America more than anything else from Europe was its sense of egalitarianism.

Americans tended to bristle at all the European formulations of high culture, and they rapidly devised their own popular culture of dime novels, crime pamphlets, vulgarized theater and more, which was a backlash against "official" high-minded European prescriptions.

It is not just her that people like. It is what she says and what she stands for. It is common sense everyday solutions that would put this country back on the right track.

To Joe Biden, It is that simple, drill here, drill now

To Congress, You don’t give mortgages to people who can’t afford them.

And if you look at her work ethics, she will not tolerate corruption. If you get rid of corruption you get rid of alot of the problems. Just look at how many members of Congress who should be brought up on charges. Charlie Rangel is a perfect example.

Our Military is the best and should be treated with respect and never apologize for being an American. If we are in a war, let it be our goal to WIN...

There is nothing complicated about her positions and she has no problem saying it as she sees it. Forget the political correction.

Neal Gabler: Incoherent soon-to-be-unemployed mouthpiece for the soon-to-be-dethroned DC coup.

“It is commonplace among intellectuals that vast swaths of American popular culture are largely idiotic. What those intellectuals never understood is that the popular culture was often idiotic by design — as an act of hostility and aggression that continues to this day.”

I’ll admit that a vast array of what is considered pop culture can turn my stomache, but if this statement from the article is not elitist, please tell me what is?

The 1st amendment and free markets allow people to decide-for better or worse- what pop culture is, not the elites, which another thing the elites do not understand.

Good grief, this guy is an Obama boot-licker .. and he never has had anything even remotely realistic to say about Palin.

However, this is just more of the same .. the same mantra the left has been using against ANY conservative. We have to be dumb and stupid because we don’t agree with the liberals. That’s a phoney and false premise and we should never accept it.

Neal’s opinions were so offensive, he was removed from the weekend show on FOX. I’m sure I had something to do with it (along with a whole bunch of others, I’m sure) because I wrote to FOX more than once about his outrageous comments. I finally gave up and quit watching the program. It didn’t take long before Gabler was replaced.

It’s the old socialist trick. If someone like Palin is ivy-leagued credentialed then she is “not of the masses” and and if she is “of the masses” and not ivy-league credentialed then she is presumptively “incompetent” and for a few more laughs add “inexperienced”

So to the Neil Gablers of this world, we must ask, incompetent and inexperienced about “what” and compared to “whom”? Biden who wanted Iraq cut up into three parts or 0 who wanted a telegraph to Al-Qaeda a date certain for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

Love the photo! Yes, she’s verrrrry smart, competant, charming, and knows people. She’s also so stinking cute!!! That face is full of good-natured mischief. I’d love to be out pulling pranks with her. She’d be a barrel of fun - and that’s why she’s so hugely appealing to ordinary people. She’s real!

Palin, like Richard Nixon”

Comparing Sarah Palin to Nixon is like comparing Mother Theresa to Hilary Clinton. They are not even on the same planet.
Neil Gabbler who should really be called Gobbler is a certifiable lunatic (there seems to be plenty of them about since Sarah Palin's book came out). This wild eyed crazy, has no business walking the streets, let alone being given space in any so-called newspaper in this country. He needs to be put a straitjacket for his own good.

Don't you know? Sara is a bully and all her detractors are the victims. Sara Palin is a meannie and it's not fair!
