I knew there was more to this...the charges will be against his wife, not him. The story of her claiming to rescue him from the vehicle by breaking the back window with a club did not have the ring of truth to it. No matter, I hope they can resolve their differences and settle this out of the public eye. I admire Tiger Woods very much and wish he and his family well.

"I did not say those things to those 'sources' and im not friends with ashley simpson or whatever her name is," Uchitel insisted.

Woods had no comment beyond a statement that downplayed the accident.

"Tiger Woods was in a minor car accident outside his home last night," it read. "He was admitted, treated and released in good condition. We appreciate very much everyone's thoughts and well wishes."

Woods, 33, was taken by ambulance to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee after the crash, about a half-mile off the main drag in Windermere, just west of Orlando.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers went to Woods' home last night to talk to the golfer, but were turned away by Nordegren who said her husband was resting. She asked them to return today and they agreed, spokeswoman Kim Montes told the Orlando Sentinel.

His neighbors in the tree-lined development, with its private golf course and small lakes, include NBA star Shaquille O'Neal.

Police said the air bags on the 2009 Escalade did not deploy, meaning Woods was likely driving slower than 33 mph.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are possible against Woods, who has avoided public controversy in his stellar career. Woods owns 14 major championships, the second-highest total in golfing history, and earns more than $100 million annually from golf and his endorsement deals. He has captured 82 victories worldwide.

Last Saturday, Woods handled the coin toss before the California-Stanford football game. At halftime, the Stanford alum - accompanied by his wife - was inducted into his alma mater's sports Hall of Fame.

NY Daily News, not just TMZ and The Enquirer. Now it’s spreading and they can’t stop it.

unfortunately, it sounds like his wife clocked him in the face with a golf club. Not the car window

Horatio:
He waxes desperate with imagination.

Marcellus:
Let’s follow. ‘Tis not fit thus to obey him.

Horatio:
Have after. To what issue will this come?

Marcellus:
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Horatio:
Heaven will direct it.

Marcellus:
Nay, let’s follow him. [Exeunt.]

A guy comes home from golf one Saturday and finds his wife in bed with another man. He goes berserk, grabs a golf club and beats them both bloody. Down at the police station, he’s being questioned. The cop drops a photo of the battered and bloody wife on the table in front of him. The cop says “…my God man, look at her…how many times did you hit her?!” The man, clearly distraught now, mutters “… I don’t know…..four, five….maybe six times…put me down for four!”

Yeah, I’ve been chased to my car by an angry woman, too... and I was trying to get out of there in a hurry also. LOL...

Disclaimer here though, there was no “other woman” in my case... :-) (just one crazy woman...)...

Fortunately I hit no fire hydrant or the neighbor’s tree...

she went berserk over reports he was seeing another woman

OMG, the question I have to ask is WHY? Who else could he possibly have met that is more beautiful than his current wife? WTH is he thinking?

Tiger, Tiger, now in flight,
From an awful wifely fight,
With a golf club she did attack,
Our poor Tiger in his Cad-ee-lack!

Crush the hydrant,
Slam the tree!
But be careful not to hurt the knee!
Remember: it’s just a marital spat.
And Nicklaus’s records you still lack!

A more edifying version comes from a Mr. Stockton, circa 1882:

The semi-barbaric King of an ancient land employed an unusual form of administering justice in his kingdom. The offender would be placed in an arena where his only way out would be to go through one of two doors. Behind one door was a beautiful lady, and behind the other was a fierce tiger. The offender was then asked to pick one of the doors, without knowing what was behind it. If he picked the door with the woman behind it, then he was declared innocent but was also required to marry the woman, regardless of previous marital status. If he picked the door with the tiger behind it, though, then he was deemed guilty and the tiger would tear him to pieces.

One day the king found that his daughter, the princess, had taken a lover far beneath her station. The king threw the offender in prison and put him on trial in the arena. There, the suitor looked to the princess for some indication of which door to pick. The princess actually knew which door concealed the woman and which one the tiger, but was faced with a dilemma: if she indicated the door with the tiger, the man she loved would be killed on the spot; but if she indicated the door with the lady, her lover would be forced to marry another woman, a lady that the princess deeply hated and believed her lover has flirted with. Finally she did indicate a door, which the suitor then opened.

At this point the question is posed to the reader, “Did the tiger come out of that door, or did the lady?”

Tiger, had better kiss and make up. Prenup or not, with his vast estate it will be ugly if he doesn’t.

The story makes more sense than the police version, but the title is misleading. The source was not Tiger.
