Hey now, watch it! This child of the 80s got her first tat at 30 and second at 39 (last year). They have personal meaning to me but aren’t in your face loud. Very subtle. No regrets at all. :)

Me personally, I have a visceral dislike of tatts on women. I think they diminish their femininity. I like unmolested, unmarked skin. Plus they’re very permanent, and even if you try to have that removed, you can’t get rid of the scar. It’s different with, say, piercings, where if you grow tired of it, the skin will close right up after you stop putting in the jewelry, no fuss, no muss.
