Do you have any link to support that? Cause from my perspective, his explanation to Sean Hannity sounded perfectly plausible and logical. And again...where is all the friggin blame that should be placed on the idiots in the NRCC that picked her in the first place? Can ANYONE answer that question that I have now had to ask about a dozen times with still no cogent response?

Newt never backed down from his support from Scozzafava. He didn’t even back down after she dropped out. He tried to put a happy face on it, but that was all. I can’t give you a link without a very time consuming trip back through threads and searches, but the facts are well known.

As to the blame for the NRCC members who appointed her, I’ve seen that on FR as well. But Newt being such a big name in Republican circles, he caught the brunt of the criticism, and rightly so in my estimation. Newt has been held as the father of contemporary conservatism. That stems from his speakership and his involvement in the Contract With America. But as others have pointed out, his dipping into the GW Kool Aid, his dealings with Pelosi, his misguided support for such a flaming liberal as Scozzafava, he’s lost his aura and is no longer a favorite around here.

I saw Newt in a couple of interviews before Scozzafava dropped out, and hateful would be the way he came off sounding to me. It was surprising. He was ranting about outsiders interfering in the race. Kept going on and on about outsiders interfering and that they had no right.

It surprised me how he came off sounding so mean. And I wondered, because I have no idea where he lives, but I wondered if he wasn’t an outsider to that area as well, and if he was then what right did he have to be acting so mean to others.

Anyway, it turned me off of him. I don’t know what other people thought about it. But it made me see him in a whole new light. He doesn’t seem to be the person I had always thought he was.

If you like him, that’s your choice. I’m not faulting you for your choice. I’m just trying to answer your question the you were asking from my own personal point of view on how he acted.
