Fine, but it has to start at the bottom. Hearts and minds must be changed one by one.
They aren't afraid of us yet. I think there's a Jefferson quote about the government needing to be afraid of the people.
Thanks! It takes a lot out of me to settle down and quantify these things. I’m glad to hear that some think it was worth the effort!
I do not understand the desire to do it.
Well, from your very first post on this thread, #678 to Cedric:
Last Sat. night, I was glad for a few RINOs.
Besides, the bigots on here even call me names and a RINO. They couldn't be more wrong but I will never allow a RAT to defeat a Republican if I have any power to do anything about it.
Your first post isn't to us but to Cedric. And no one had had any prior communication with you on this thread. Yet you in your first post call to complain to him, and call us bigots. You may not understand the desire to be nasty, but it obviously comes natural to you.
The people at the bottom that wanted change, and joined the tea parties. The rest..what are they doing? Where’s the evidence that they are demanding change from the top? Show us proof. Tea partiers are on top of this, demanding change.. Where is the base of the GOP?
I remember that quote...hang on a sec
No, not lonely at all. What don’t you get back to chasing aliens? Good grief, if you’re typical of the Palin crowd then you make my point.
First of all, NOBODY is further to the left than Zero. Except, perhaps, Lucifer himself.
Secondly, the way I understand it, Newt didn't stick himself anywhere. The NRCC chose Dede. Not Newt. Newt just went along and supported the candidate that the friggin NRCC picked/chose. Blame the NRCC? That would be a damned refreshing change.
I want to know how the hell Newt went from being a conservative Republican hero/icon to being, according to you and a few others here, a RINO. I want to get to the bottom of this and if it turns out that you guys are unfairly attacking him or blaming HIM (which is exactly what it's looking like to me so far), I want to know what the REAL reason is. Cause so far, all I've heard is BS and lame@ss accusations.
It was most DEFINITELY worth the effort.
European-American = white people. Do you have some kind of problem with white people?
A lot of people in my state did exactly that, and we got....Arlen Specter. I did not vote for him, but many rs did. Gee. That worked out swell for us.
Do you have any link to support that? Cause from my perspective, his explanation to Sean Hannity sounded perfectly plausible and logical. And again...where is all the friggin blame that should be placed on the idiots in the NRCC that picked her in the first place? Can ANYONE answer that question that I have now had to ask about a dozen times with still no cogent response?
Excuse me but the last time I checked, we are allowed opinions whether you like them or not.
Yeah, I know what this thread is about. But since I haven’t been able to get a decent explanation on why everyone is targeting Newt instead of the NRCC, I thought I’d throw it into the mix and maybe I’d ‘get lucky’. So far, it’s SOL/no such luck.
Kim pinged me to it HH. It says it all. Should be made into fliers and posted on bulletin boards at party hq and anywhere else there’s an empty space.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Thomas Jefferson
“he who would surrender a measure of freedom for a measure of safety; deserves neither freedom nor safety”
—Ben Franklin
“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. “
“What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? “
“And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure. “
—Jefferson
All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
Thomas Jefferson
Ever hear the old saying 'Actions speak louder than words'? I've learned over my life that what a person does with his life speaks more than what he tells me he's accomplished. Sometimes, when we root out the facts, the words ring hollow. I'm not speaking of you when I say that, only pointing out a hole in your point.
I do see, however, a discrepancy in your words vs. your actions. You speak a conservative line, but your trust in GOP solidarity belies your spoken beliefs. GOP solidarity will not win the day for America when so many GOP politicians are Democrat lite. And if you are so pro capitalist, pro small government as you depict, then your approach is defeatist in itself. And my pointing that out is not a cheap DU trick; it's stating the obvious.
...and since I'm still here, I guess I'm not the devil to be banned at this point.
Well, I don't see you as the Devil, simply a very misguided person who hasn't woken to what's coming. One who's also very determined not to change in the face of blunt fact. But that's your decision. And that doesn't make you someone worth a zot. At least in my opinion. But you'd best wear your flame-retardant undies around here. There's more to come given your opinion.
Every one of those apply. I wonder if they are still taught in school.
