Pet Project by the PR junkie Salahi's next summer in D.C. Looks like a) they are in with the Deputy Ambassador of the India Embassy to the USA -- who was also at the state dinner; and b) Tareq and Michaela Salahi had invited BARACK OBAMA to be at the event to kick it off. Well I guess THAT is not going to happen now. (From a website in India a few months ago):

"A large number of eminent Indian and American personalities, besides fashion designers and culinary experts are being invited to celebrate the two day event on June 11 and 12 next year to make this a memorable event for years to come, organisers of the Polo Cup said yesterday at a kick-off reception here. Tareq Salahi, captain of the US polo team, said this would be for the first time that A R Rahman and Pussycat Dolls would be performing live together. India’s noted fashion designers too are being invited for the event, which would involve a polo tournament between Indian and American team. Thousands of people are likely to converge at the National Mall during the two-day annual event. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Ambassador to the US, Arun K Singh, said the polo match between India and the US next year to be played at the National Mall reflects another dimension of the growing relationship between the two countries. This will enhance sports and cultural links between India and the US, he said. Commenting on this polo challenge for the first time between India and the US, spokeswoman, Michaele Salahi said: “The America’s Polo Cup aspires to bring the love of the game to a wider audience and bring international cultures together in a celebration of both their common bonds and their diversity.” “This special global program includes national and international festivities that showcase elements dear to both nations, including community and international good will, air shows, sportsmanship, music, wine, cuisine, adventure and freedom,” Salahi said. The US President, Barack Obama has been invited to inaugurate the opening ceremony for the world championships this September 19, on the DC National Mall. The preview polo match would be played between teams from Chicago and Washington."

Japanese news media now covering the WHSB (White House Security Breach), including an incredible WHSB (White House Security Brief), including an incredible, almost hilarious if it weren't disturbing, photograph. At Link. Sankei News

I am seeing it break in India and also on one Pakistani news site as well. Have not seen the story in Arabic news yet, but probably a matter of time before al-Jazeera or Arabiya, etc. pick it up.

I saw that and also the wedding video is on several sites.

Why would he jeopardize his big event? Odd.

PR junkie Salahi

That may be all there is to Salahi. Your posts 69, 71, 75, 79 --- unless he has a "secret" life we haven't tapped into yet, it doesn't look like a deep thought ever crosses his mind.

The organization, however, may be another matter entirely. Did you read post 94? That paragraph is cursory. His"rap sheet" is deep and wide. Given the apparent significance of ATFP in prior years and what we have discovered thus far on a few principles, there may be much, much more.

not yet.

Sankei news website online in Tokyo right now, top photo stories section, ranked as most viewed is the photo-story: "They Did Not Have An Invitation To The President's State Dinner", with two or three photos of this ditzy couple strolling around the White House with the dorkiest looks on their faces.

Thanks, to my knowledge The American Task Force on Palestine isn't a dangerous group, and there's nothing that stands out in Sahali's bio to identify him as a threat. But this simply shouldn't happen. And they should be prosecuted else there will be repeats, a weakness in security having been identified.

Tareq Salahi Tareq Salahi

Tareq Salahi is the CEO and Owner of the Oasis Winery in Hume,Virginia. He is also founder and President of Oasis Limousines & Wine Country Tours, President of Oasis Yachts & Wine Tasting Cruises, and the founder and President of the Blue Ridge Wine Way. Oasis Winery was one of the first United States wineries to be added to the elite listing of the Top 10 Sparkling Wines & Champagnes in the World by the Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

Mr. Salahi travels the world as the Team Captain for the United States Polo Team and represents both the United States and Palestine on his diplomatic polo tours. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society named Mr. Salahi their 2002 National Man of the Year. He is a board member of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid Atlantic, an Honorary Chairman of the Smithsonian Associates, and Founding Contributing Member of the Virginia Regional Therapeutic Center. He also devotes his time to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, St. Jude?s Children Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society, Meadow Outdoor Foundation/Virginia Gold Cup, British Forces Foundation, MADD & Charity Polo Matches throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.

Mr. Salahi graduated from University of California at Davis with a Bachelorof Science in Enology and Business Marketing Management

This is the first chance I've had to get online. We're not having our dinner until Saturday, so I've been trying to get my place together in the meantime.

I see you and the others have been busy in the meantime. I'm glad they've been getting a tongue lashing from folks online. Serves them right. It will be interesting to see if any charges are filed against them.

While Salahi and other members of the board may be harmless, there are definitely some questionable characters they're keeping company with. And if we've learned one thing since 9/11, it's that radicals like to keep a quiet demeanor and low profile while blending into the background so as not to draw any attention to themselves or their organizations.

By the way, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

I agree that Sahali is probably relatively harmless (see post #105), but as far as ATFP, I’m not as comforted that they are benign (unless, as Candor7 suggests, they are being marginalized).

Look at their roster in Post #66 (Khalidi, for example) and see posts 93, 94. I think those list of names are worth investigating-—or at least worthy of a mental note.

Radical Islamists have infiltrated every level of American society and government and are highly skilled in the art of the forked tongue. I’ve done a lot of research on this point and they condemn themselves by their own words and actions. They speak one thing for public consumption and preach another to their choir-— Ala BHO & his adm, by whom they have now become emboldened.

Case in point just this morning:

U.S. Muslims are Americans too

I’m not sure I’m buying the story all the way. I wonder if they showed up and someone agreed to let them in.

I keep wondering that too. Look at AIT’s post #102 -— Sahali put his own project in jeopardy. I also wonder if the BHO administration might come out with a “it was all a mistake” statement to get out of the mess.

One of the news channels had Brian Williams of NBC talking saying this party crashing couple were in a SUV in front of him and it was forced to turn aside - was not allowed into the East vehicle entrance to the WH.

Then, the couple evidently, parked their SUV, got out, and walked in to a pedestrian entrance to the WH grounds.

Williams said there was only one metal detector security screening place once inside.

FWIW.

AM, just for interest. Thanks to thouworm. I don't think I pinged this thread, we know the nature of the current administration, and the topic isn't all that relevant to world affairs. Still it's become a bit interesting. Note post 91. A repetition of this 2006 post. Information suddenly hard to find on the web, the wayback machine and google caches apparently in the process of being purged.

The map link is still working in the first post (below-look quick), probably soon to be gone too.

Sahali should be kicked off the board of this organization for that publicity prank, if that's what it was. But while we are on the subject, I find the organization far more interesting than the recent social faux pas, security breach, and BHO adm embarrassment.

From SJackson, circa 2006:

W. T. F.

The occupation. Of what, you ask? Not the map below, from the American Task Force on Palestine, the group before which Condi noted:

"Last month, in his speech to the UN General Assembly, President Bush reiterated his deep conviction that the Palestinian people deserve a better life - a life that is rooted in liberty and democracy, uncompromised by violence and terrorism, unburdened by corruption and misrule, and forever free of the daily humiliation of occupation. It is this belief that led President Bush, in June of 2002, to become the first American president to make it a matter of policy that the creation of a Palestinian state, with territorial integrity, with viability, living side by side with Israel, in peace and security, would indeed strengthen peace and security, not just in the region but the peace and security of us all. "

Arab countries in tan, non-Arab countries in white, and, surprise, a country is missing. A little one. Guess who? A footnote, territorial integrity means that Israel will have to cede land to connect Gaza and the West Bank. Irrelevant though, since Israel's destruction is the objective.

And yes, the State Dept might have made a mistake vetting the group, but no, I doubt the map is an accident.

The Mission and Purpose of the American Task Force on Palestine

ATFP advocates the establishment of a democratic state of Palestine living in peace and security alongside Israel in the territories occupied in 1967 in accordance with international law and the relevant United Nations Resolutions.

Compare the size of the Arab world vs the size of Israel. Photobucket

But Israel is the only reliable friend the US has in the middle east.
