Who said it would never get this far? It was never a question of whether it would be debated. Senators Kyl and DeMint claim voting for procedural clotures assures passage of most bills—which is true but beside the point. This is not like most other bills. This is revolutionary—and huge—and it’s opposed by much of the country. No way some moderates won’t oppose this. But they need to give it a hearing first—to show solidarity with their leader.
Check the intrade percentage. Only 3.9% believe it’ll pass. That’s ridiculously low.

That's that it passes this year, no way the senate can pass a bill, combine it with the house's bill and get final passage that quick. I believe they WILL pull the nuclear trigger after the first of the year to get this done. I wish I had your faith, I just don't.
