If the benefits do not go into effect for 5 years and only taxes go into effect immediately, wouldnt the public prefer the reduction in taxes that repealing this would cause? Then the new Congress can start over with common sense solutions. This bill, if it passes into law, will not be entrenched in the American psyche or the economy until after 1 to 3 years after implementation. I think the Dems are making a mistake by not getting their abominable bill to take affect as soon as possible and until then it will be vulnerable to repeal.

Wrong “affect” = effect. :^)

You are correct but even the RATS realize it has to be paid for and they can't get the funds shuffled, borrowed or printed fast enough to pull it off that quick. There is a chance to stop this but it's kind of difficult if the representatives are going shove this through for our own good and their re-election bids be damned.

The increased taxes take effect immediately. If this is passed the only "repeal" will be the fall of the United States, much like the "Federal" Reserve, the IRS, Social "Security", Medicare, etc.
