Ok let us break it down in a way that maybe might finally penetrate the fog or mindless angst you keep yourself in.

I suspect that like Beck you were raised a Democrat and just cannot bear, even now, to hold "your team" accountable for it's actions. So instead of dealing with the world as it is, you, like Beck, manufacture this rationalization to shout at both sides equally rather then have to rationally confront the facts and hold "your team" accountable for it's acts.

So put your angst on hold and consider things rationally for just a heartbeat. You can go back to your mindless rage afterward.

You cannot get enough Conservative/Libertarians organized to take over the political machinery of the GOP. Yet some how you think you are magically going to get enough people organized to set up a politically viable third party.

Did you even stop for a heartbeat to think about the fundamental illogic of that notion? You can see the coming trainwreck of "The Plan" from here.

If Beck does NOT set up a third party, your sort will go back to your mindless raging only now Beck will be your target in place of the GOP. He will have "sold you out".

If he does try to form a new party, it will be viable only as long as you all agree on every single issue. As soon as an issue comes up that you do NOT all agree on, your sort will go back to screaming your rage at what ever equivalent of "RINO" the factions in your new party create.

Way off - I was a registered Republican before you were probably even born, and was raised a Republican.

You cannot get enough Conservative/Libertarians organized to take over the political machinery of the GOP. Yet some how you think you are magically going to get enough people organized to set up a politically viable third party.

So what if I can't get enough Conservatives to take over the GOP - does that mean I should submit to the moderates (liberals) who run the GOP and blindly follow them?

As for Beck, he's clearly not out to setup a third party - he revealed "the plan" is just another book he's working on. He's like Palin as far as I'm concerned - he may say some things I agree with, but I have plenty of issues with him just like I do with Palin. I don't think either one of them is capable of even setting up or running a third party, although plenty of people have bought into the cult of personality surrounding both of them, and think they can.

The issues I have with the GOP sliding to the left go back a lot further, well before any of us had heard of Beck or Palin, and arguably before most of us had heard of Limbaugh.

What is it about you screamers that you NEVER remember who took control of Congress in Jan 2007?

The Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress since January 2007. The Democrats Congress is responsible for most the stuff you endlessly bitch at the GOP about. I will grant you that Bush should of vetoed it but to exclusively blame the GOP, as you do, for what the Democrat Congress created is extremely moronic.

Time to move outside the comfort zone. Time to revolt and refuse to participate if this health care passes as it is now.

I'm not talking about what the Democrats did - I expect them to act like liberals. I'm talking about all of the crap that was pushed through under Bush and the Republican Congress prior to 2007 that led to the largest, most expensive, most intrusive, most powerful government in our history.

I'm talking about things like the PATRIOT Act and the other big brother-like programs that Bush pushed and Congress gladly signed off on for the most part, the bailout of the airline industry that was having problems well before 9/11, the expansion of the federal government and its various agencies, Bush pushing "compassionate conservatism" which is really just code words for "the government will take care of you", Bush and Congress' criticism of the patriots who were concerned with our border security, the desire to leave the borders open and work as slowly as possible on a border fence while we take off our shoes at the airports and get our laptops looked at by people who have a hard time working the cash register at a McDonald's, Bush's (and McCain's) would-be attempts at amnesty and the guest-worker stuff, No Child Left Behind which is intrusive government at its finest - trying (and succeeding) to get the federal government involved in what should be local school matters, and so on and so forth.

It took a Republican President and a Republican Congress to push all of those through, and much of that will be abused by the Democrats and used against us. We haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Democrats abusing everything that was pushed through by Republicans from 2001 - 2006.

I’m still curious to hear your reasoning behind claiming that 3rd parties never achieve anything other than political irrelevance, given that the Republican party started out as a third party.

the Republican party started out as a third party.

It does no matter how often you repeat this, it isn't true. The Whig party collapsed immediately after the election of 1852. At that point there was a one party system. The GOP formed in 1854. At the same time the American Party formed. In 1856 a coalition of the Republicans and the American Party took control of Congress. Within two years the American Party fell apart in the slavery crisis, leaving the GOP as the second party.

KEEP IN MIND >> Some 80% of the federal stim (read slush fund) remains unspent. Ohaha is saving it to finance 2010 Dem candidates. >> Ohaha placed Biden in charge of the stim disbursement.

I am not sure it will work. I am hearing 2010 is going to make 09' look like a cakewalk.

Commerical paper is non existant for businesses.

Banks hording cash to cover the potential Commerical Real Estate Collapse.

Unless they pass this around as in walking around money, they can't get it in the pipeline fast enough to make a difference of the 2 tusnami's I mentioned that are here or coming.

...I might go along with that, if conservatives get rid of the GOP hacks that fooked this congress up along time ago...

...BTW, it is the third party movement that has repubs scared sh!tless. and it's about time these turds woke up. The only problem is they're too late, to get on the ship, because most conservatives see through their fake fookin’ sanctimony...

Yeah, sure. You'll be back though, using another name. Probably something like 'humblimbaugh'.

...Heard about them on Quinn and Rose a couple of weeks ago. These folks need our utmost support, to follow the Constitution and not the COC, POSPOTUS, congress, or anyone of these criminals in elected office. Bravo...

Your own post illustrates that there have been times in our history where there were more than two parties exerting influence on the political system, and it even points raises the issue of a coalition of two or more parties with some mutual interests, something I hadn't raised. You bring up a very good point - let the Conservatives leave the GOP since the GOP isn't interested in us, but we can still work together in a coalition on certain key issues against the Democrats..

You still haven't addressed whether or not I and other Conservatives should just bow down before the moderate and liberal Republicans and just shut up and do what we are told rather than seek our fortunes elsewhere if we are unable to exert any influence within the party.

My apology, I confused you with one of the other posts on my last comment.

Still, you bring up a good scenario and I appreciate it. Why couldn't the moderate GOP work with a Conservative third party in a coalition?

Many states have laws which prevent new parties from getting regular ballot access (in New Jersey the GOP barely qualifies sometimes. The law requires that a party must run candidates for the state assembly who receive 35% of the total vote to stay on the ballot).

As to what to do with liberal Republicans, infiltrate, take over, and purge their rear ends out!!

I, for one, have given up on going cap in hand to the current crop of Republicans, mewling and puking to please please please pretty please be conservative.

They want my vote, they need to speak their piece in a conservative forum - and tell the truth.

Do you really believe this absurdity? Neither Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh agree with your assessment. They believe the solution is to take back their GOP, not run away.

LOL!!! They completely agree with my assessment, in fact, it was THEIR assessment! Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh said NO to the republican candidate in NY. That's a FACT, Jack. You can pretend it didn't happen, but that just puts you hiding in the closet of delusion with Michael Steele.

Did you people learn nothing from the implosion of Perot's Reform party in the late 1990s? If you cannot even get organized enough to take back the GOP from the RINO, it is utter insanity to think you can form a viable third party.

"you people"...just wonderful, thank you. As to the rest, well, "we people" (Conservatives and Libertarians) told "you people" (the RINOs and RINO lickers) to bite us and we carried a HELL of a lot more political weight in that election than "you people" (RINOs and RINO lickers) did. And don't forget - Sarah and Rush were on our (Conservatives and Libertarians) side! Hey, look, I think McPain just took a dump, maybe you should run over and clean his arse...
