I will have to check it out now that I am home. I find it hard to believe they are going to cover it substantially. I have a strong suspicion that they are going to turn this into a story of how the climate change deniers are trying to discredit the people who are trying to save the planet instead of concentrating on the deceit and subterfuge.

The only real problem the Chicken Littles have with this is that they could not get their taxes in place before the world realized the earth is just fine, to show us that our tax dollars to the cause of global warm...climate cha...whatever worked and we can be on to the next problem that, guess what, more taxes will solve.

I apologize for wasting your time, because my comment (Post # 54), which referred to the temperature chart shown in Post # 39, was intended merely to make a somewhat frivolous analogy between this temperature pattern and the “head and shoulders” stock market indicator, which signifies an end to an upward trend.

Actually, to complete the “head and shoulders” formation (if this were a stock chart) the downward sloping The curve at the extreme right would have to continue downward until it gets below the trough located between the left shoulder and the head.

Good observation - the term used amongst neo-Keynesians is "functional finance". It basically reverses the entire libertarian construct of society -> government to government -> society.

Here's a good article/discussion on the topic of gov't directed economic activity. Note, as you observe, true believers don't think it matters what is produced/consumed, as long as there is economic activity. That is, monetary velocity and taxation. Thus, health care "reform", cap 'n trade, amnesty, etc.
