On Tuesday night's episode of The Ed Show, host Ed Schultz asked NAACP president Ben Jealous if he agreed America was in recession because "there are maybe some institutions on Wall Street that do not want to see a black president succeed?" Jealous, surprisingly, disagreed. (See the question at 4:52 in this video. N.B. how Jealous's mouth involuntarily contorts when Ed launches into Louis Farrakhan territory.)
Ed Schultz: "Mr. Jealous, I’m going ask you a direct question here tonight, and it has not been talked about in the media, but I’ve thought about this in recent weeks, because the credit should not be this tight as much as the American taxpayer has done for Wall Street: Do you think that there are maybe some institutions on Wall Street that do not want to see a black president succeed, and that’s why the money is tight?"
Ben Jealous: “I don’t think that’s the case. I don’t think that’s the case. I don’t subscribe to those theories…We’ve got to stop focusing on race, start focusing on reality, which is all of us are hurting.”
This rebuttal of a theory Schultz admitting thinking about for "weeks" is no small story, coming from the organization that blamed George W. Bush for James Byrd's murder, and that is headed by Julian Bond, who....

I don’t suppose it matters that the recession started long before anyone knew for sure Obama would be the Democratic nominee, let alone president.

Sorry, I don’t buy it. Only leftists cut off their nose to spite their faces, as in hating tax cuts even those revenue to the government increases. Wall Street will never hate a person of a certain race more than they love their money.

Who is Ed Schultz to say how tight credit should be? What, banks have to lend just because they have enough money not to go under immediately? We should be thanking God that at the very least they’re concerned about the future, and concrned about not getting into the exact same trouble they were in a year ago by doing the same stupid thing (i.e. overextend credit).

Last time I heard, it was fat-cat wallstreet types that were making too much money and paying their execs too much compensation.
Now they're saying that these companies are deliberately hurting themselves financially just to stick it to Barry.

I am now looking forward to his complete political destruction. I would also like to see him experience complete personal financial ruin..... he has worked very hard to achieve failure, he deserves his prize.
I have never cared about the color of his skin. HE, and others like him, have made race a big deal. THEY are the ones that have taken race relations backwards by several decades.
I have never in my life been a racist, I’m 61, but within the past 2 years I have been called everything but a white man. Apparently I am a racist, regardless of my lifelong beliefs. Well surprise~surprise...I no longer care, period.

Schultze should have asked if the Apollo 11 moon landing was actually an elaborate hoax that allowed President Nixon cover to appropriate less money to welfare programs and secretly enrich wealthy white cronies.
