“McCollum said the Army did not want the event to become a platform for Palin supporters to express political opinions “directed against the commander in chief.”

McCollum stepped WAY out of his lane to say this. I have extreme doubts this would be the Army’s official line. A post-level PA rep, which McCollum is, shouldn’t have couched his response in political terms. When I was a PAer in the Air Force, politics was considered a third rail. You just didn’t go there.

That’s what I was thinking. I interpret it as rope-a-dope: 0 and his buttboys will approve of the statement, too stupid to realize Sarah is about to galvanize the whole base, and Ft. Hood, too.

Put another way, McCollum is ordering about 500 youtube clips covering their howling approval of Sarah.
