Oh thanks!
LOL, I didn’t think poster RonDog was so popular that he had his name on shirts!
Please, Ann, stop going on Geraldo’s show! You give him too much credibility and more viewers than he deserves.
"IronDog" is similar to "I-RonDog." Your wife? Or a fan of Todd?
Cheers!
Not me. Must be Todd. :o)
No I sound like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson who warned against foreign adventures and entangling alliances. History has repeatedly proven them right. Bush had nearly eight years to "solve" the Afghan mess with our blood and treasure and couldn't do.
Win or pull out like Viet Nam? (Actually we did both there)
The relative success in Iraq (a lot of folks still dying there) was due to buy off the Sunnis who were killing Aemricans by giving money to insurgents who formed the so called “Sons of Iraq.” More recently, the U.S. troops have retired to their bases. The surge was too small to make a difference. Interestingly, when Obama proposed the same bribe strategy for Aghanistan, he was much criticized here. In any case, such as strategy will be more difficult in Afghanistan since the Pashtuns (who form the whole basis of the Taliban) are a much larger percentage of the population than the Sunnis in Iraq.
It isn’t our diversity that is our strength. It is how those from diverse backgrounds assimilate into our culture that is our strength. It is how we coalless into a single nation. The libs think we keep our cultural differences. But the truth is that just creates underclases and cliques. A great house is the sum of a lot of differnt materials. The key is that the parts are put together using an overall plan. Otherwise you would just have piles of wood, nails, and shingles.
Some of your statements are quite flawed.
Very true, thanks for you informed intelligent post.
Very well put.
I can only add that chocolate pudding is dramatic irony.
I'm surprised Captain Kirk you need an explanation. But many conservatives believe a failure in Afghanistan will embolden our enemies and encourage more jihad attacks. Giving up in Afghanistan will only place the focus back on our troops in Iraq. It will also embolden Iran, not that the present administration is doing much to discourage Iran. But still if they see us holding strong in Afghanistan they have to be wondering if we might turn the focus on them.
BTW, the Iranian Shi'ites and the Afghan majority have never gotten along. Our foreign policy over the last eight years has only helped Iran. First, as Ayatallah Khomeini had long urged, we overthrow Saddam and instaled a Shi'te regime. Secondly, we weakened another Iranian enemy to the east: the Sunni Taliban in Afghanistan and installed chaos in its place.
Pls add me to your ping list.
You’ve been added. :)
