I read the reason for tungsten is the weight among other reasons.

Gold has a density of 19.30 gm/cc Tungsten is 19.25 g/cc. Lead is only 11.34 g/cc.

I knew it was close I wonder if the other weight is then added by coating it if that is what is happening?
