Full Disclosure ... I am a Purple Heart receipiant from Desert Storm ... and I disagree with these soldiers receiving the PH. It is a big stretch the fit this into a combat related situation and I think it begins to lessen the true value and meaning.
I fully believe that the POS should be lined up against a wall but PHs for the victims I think not.
I hear what you are saying but the war we are in does not have front lines, the enemy is here as well as Europe, Philippines, Middle East, etc.
Thank you for responding, LavaDog.
I was wondering what someone like you would say about this.
I can see your point.
I also think it’s a good thing that Carter is doing. Even if it is “playing politics”-it may force an honest discussion.
The PC stuff is going to kill us.

Not sure how this is any different than the turd who threw the grenade into the tent. Didn’t they get PHs?
Yes, this is RE, but, as posted above, in asymetric warfare probably 1/2 of the casualties are non-combat personel -— REMFs sitting in an office or loading a truck or somesuch when a bomb goes off.
Thinking back to Desert Storm (which I was also in), I think most of the deaths were Marines sleeping in a barracks somewhere hit by a SCUD, wasn’t it?
We wouldn’t hestate to give PHs to office jocks in the Green Zone if Dr. Hasan when crazy there — so I am not sure what difference it being Texas makes.
