Construction crews are busy lowering all the desks and raising his chair so he will appear equal to Robin Williams in height. George will still be allowed to wear his pink tutu on the set however.
I am not a fan of his, however what he wants makes sense. He is basically letting his bosses know he is willing within logical parameters that make sense for him and the show. I don’t think it is an ego thing so much as good thinking...
Uh oh, I am going to get blasted for this one... :)
Heh
I get what you are saying. He’s not willing to let monkeys poop on his shoulder, do interviews about the Spring fashion line, taste test another disgusting dish in a cooking segment....
Then he needs to stay the hell off morning TV. Because after the first 20 minutes of headlines, you get the usual dose of why your worthless Husband won’t do the dishes.
You’re right though. No matter who it is.
You beat me to it—I thought ‘lil Georgie Huffandpuffalous was going to get a phone book or two to sit on......
People who watch GMA don't want hard news and political analysis. If they did, they would watch one of the cable news channels. If they design the show around what GS wants, they'll lose their present audience to other morning fluff shows on the gamble they may pick up a smattering of people who normally watch cable news. I'm amazed GS is even considering it.
Pinging ABB! Does this qualify for a “Dinosaur Media DeathWatch”?
Because I think this will pretty much kill off the morning ratings for GMA, which tends to draw people more interested in fluff than news.
Girlie man for Girlie show.
Very interesting. I can’t recall the last time I watched any of the “big three” morning shows.
I agree with the original statement of clarifying one’s position.
But this observation is dead on; if he wants to be a “hard news” guy, he can’t expect to sign on to a show that is probably fluff and for a fluffy market.
What talent?
It figures. His talent(LOL)lies within the fantasy world of politics; not the real world of the rest of us.

Yes maam... :)
Stephanopoulos knows a lot about shaping programs and news.
The new condition is that he wants Obama on every week for serious, I mean SERIOUS!, political interviews. Questions will include who’s doing the dishes in the Obama household, flower arrangement and travel suggestions.
“...his interviewing talents...”
And those are?
I think George is serious about this and I’m sure they can work something out. George will have to be separated from the co-hosts who provide the fluff. Whether he’s in another city or back in the “newsroom,” he can report the serious news and interview serious guests. The other hosts can always solicit his sage advice on any serious topic to remind America just how lucky we are to share George’s wisdom.
Am I really the only one who remembers that Stephanopolous had to step down from his post as Clinton’s spokesmouth, move over to *special assistant to the president* because he lost credibility with the White House Press Corps, they were tired of his daily baloney? I mean, of all people to dismiss your honesty, sheesh! But how this guy was able to not only be put on as a regular talking-head on Brinkley’s show, but given control of it after one of the last decent journos passed away, it still astounds me.
