Can you support this claim?
Article I, section 5, clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution:
“Each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members....”
It is undisputed that the House is the ultimate word on the winner of an election to the House, as well as on whether a member meets the constitutional qualifications for office, and that such determinations are made by a simple majority vote; the only limit that the Supreme Court has placed on Congress is that it not add to the qualifications set forth in the Constitution (age, citizenship and residency). See Powell v. McCormack.
