There comes a point in time when a decision has to be made.
There comes a point in time when the collection of additional information is redundant and counterproductive.
There comes a point in time when must sh*t or get off the pot.
There comes a point in time when you can no longer put off till tomorrow ... what MUST be done today.
Exactly. My dad used to be in the Army and he told me that his rule of thumb was to make a decision when he had at least 60% of the information in front of you. Many times you get above that, and that’s great, you lower your risk, but sometimes you have less, and you still have to make a decision.
His overriding principle was that inaction was worse than making a decision. Right or wrong, at least if you make a decision you can always adjust as new information or circumstances require.
Obama has no executive experience at all. He comes from legislatures which are deliberative bodies, where consensus building is the rule and no one has to really suffer the consequences for bad decisions. Prior to that he was involved in academia, law firms, and rabble-rousing.
The one most important job in the country that relies on being able to make a decision is the presidency and it is downright scary that so many were duped into voting for him. The presidency is not a place for on-the-job training.
I’d think it would be safe to say that most small business owners or military NCOs have more executive experience than Obama.
