India is a democratic country.Her people are just about the only ones on earth that have a positive opinion of the US.I hope she's preparing herself,militarily,because she shares a border with two desperately dangerous...and nuclear armed...countries.

I remember being taught in my Foreign Relations class in college that back at the start of the Cold War the US missed out a huge opportunity by not aligning itself with India at the start.
