Nicolle Wallace: She is who we thought she was.

Nicolle Wallace: She is who we thought she was.

HER TURN! Fri Nov 13 2009 07:27:12 ET

Going Rogue: An American Life by Sarah Palin Chapter Four; Section 8, pages 255-257

By the third week in September, a “Free Sarah” campaign was under way and the press at large was growing increasingly critical of the McCain camp’s decision to keep me, my family and friends back home, and my governor’s staff all bottled up. Meanwhile, the question of which news outlet would land the first interview was a big deal, as it always is with a major party candidate.

From the beginning, Nicolle [Wallace] pushed for Katie Couric and the CBS Evening News. The campaign’s general strategy involved coming out with a network anchor, someone they felt had treated John well on the trail thus far. My suggestion was that we be consistent with that strategy and start talking to outlets like FOX and the Wall Street Journal. I really didn’t have a say in which press I was going to talk to, but for some reason Nicolle seemed compelled to get me on the Katie bandwagon.

“Katie really likes you,” she said to me one day. “she’s a working mom and admires you as a working mom. She has teenage daughter like you. She just relates to you,” Nicolle said. “believe me, I know her very well. I’ve worked with her.” Nicolle had left her gig at CBS just a few months earlier to hook up with the McCain campaign. I had to trust her experience, as she had dealt with national politics more than I had. But something always struck me as peculiar about the way she recalled her days in the White House, when she was speaking on behalf of President George W. Bush. She didn't have much to say that was positive about her former boss or the job in general. Whenever I wanted to give a shout-out to the White House’s homeland security efforts after 9/11, we were told we couldn’t do it. I didn’t know if that was Nicolle’s call.

Nicolle went on to explain that Katie really needed a career boost. “She just has such low self-esteem,” Nicolle said. She added that Katie was going through a tough time. “She just feels she can’t trust anybody.”

I was thinking, And this has to do with John McCain’s campaign how?

I think the people pulling the strings were shocked and then had to scurry to ruin her.

There is no doubt that McCain's people were absolutely jealous at the crowds, and the energy, that Sarah was generating.

Had there been anyone else in the VP slot, McCain would have lost in Mondaleian fashion. There was no energy, no theme, no reason to vote for McCain, other than as an anti-Obama vote...before Sarah.

Did John McCain try to win this election?

He signed his own political death warrant the day he said that he would run "an honorable campaign", free of negative ads ar anything else that would expose Ubama for the communist scumbag we always knew he was.

Trust your gut instinct. If the person is seems to be a pig; chances are they are a pig which this Nicolle seems to be.

It seems to me that Gov Palin is a smart lady and has learned a very valuable lesson.

A lesson that many conservatives have to re-learn every election cycle.

We vote for the best candidate available to us, but we learn that they are not all we had hoped.

Many of us knew George W Bush was not as conservative as many tried to believe he was. Yes, he was conservative on some issues (firearms, war, foreign relations) but he was also too tolerant of gov't spending, regulations and too trustworthy of his advisors who were not conservative at all (Paulson).

Palin needs to understand that she must keep staunch conservatives around her so they can fill other positions with staunch conservatives or she will suffer the same debilitating letdown other conservative leaders have suffered.

Yeah, that character was killed off, a shame though, kinda liked her.
Now THIS Nicolle Wallace(The one that worked with McCain) is a total, well, rhymes with witch. I knew from the beginning she was the one leaking crap about Sarah to the press. She was a Romneybot, she wanted Romney to win, yet McCain still hired her. What a fool McCain was. Sat around and watched his entire campaign be sabotaged and didn’t do a damn thing to stop it

“Did John McCain try to win this election?
Or was winning not the role that he was assigned.”

John McCain seemed sedated the whole time. He looked old and tired next to the young and energetic Zero. McCain’s handlers helped him lose the election.

Connect the dots to her husband, then Romney.

This was Operation Leper:

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Rush said this happened to him when he was new on the national scene. Now he does not do any media that he cannot control. Sarah would be wise to carry on with the same policy.
