RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine has cleared the way for the execution of sniper John Allen Muhammad.
Kaine denied Muhammad's clemency request Tuesday. Muhammad is scheduled to die by lethal injection Tuesday night at a Virginia prison for killing Dean Harold Meyers at a gas station during a three-week spree that left 10 people dead in 2002 across Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Son of a bitch cold-blooded murderer of ordinary, innocent human beings, who were just going about their daily routines, visiting the shopping mall, putting gas in the car, trying to make a living for their families and children... doesn't look so g****** cocky now, does he?

I don’t either, I just asked if he wanted to watch a man die.

He’s a POS, but I don’t want to watch him die. Even though he amply earned it.
I thought about setting the alarm on my watch, just so I could mark the moment of his execution, but I’m going to give it a pass. I’m going to just go and live an ordinary day of my life, like those he deprived of their lives were trying to do.

He should just be exterminated, with no fanfare. I don’t like the fact that he will be all over the media and on everyone’s mind up to his last minute. He doesn’t deserve a moments attention.

Though I have to say I like how they do things in Japan. In that country, the condemned does not know he is about to be executed until an hour beforehand. In the Soviet Union, you didn't know until you entered a room with a drain in the floor and felt a pistol muzzle against the back of your head.

I dont think the death penalty really has much of a deterrent effect... I agree. And for Muslims, death is a part of the glory of terror.
I'd prefer that he be given solitary confinement, for life, WITHOUT ammenities.

I'm rather fond of the Japanese style as well. That way, the perps remain anonymous unless their family chooses to to announce their hangings to the press.
The Ministry of Justice typically will only confirm that an execution has been carried out and will announce only the number(s) and prison location(s). The family knows when they get a notice to come and collect their remains and belongings.
It is not unusual to do multiple executions at multiple locations on the same day so as to further minimize the perp's chances for publicity. There is a certain Oriental mystery surrounding the whole affair.
Personally, however, I prefer the 1890's style Western send-off complete with hymn singing, picnics and a crowd gathered on the courthouse lawn to witness the whole affair. It just strikes me as more Christian and compassionate and would be a dandy way to offend the ACLU and Islamofacist nut-jubs at the same time.

You really want to watch a man die?
Hanging (or preferably drawn and quartering) of Saddam Hussien at half time of the Superbowl would have gotten huge ratings. And playing the theme song from Team America during the execution would have been the icing on the cake.

I wonder what he chose as his last meal. Anytime they have these executions, I always wonder that. Texas used to post last meals on a website but I guess they got criticized for being insensitive or something. In any case, here's an copy of what was there before it got deleted: Link
