MSNBC and Bloomberg are reporting that the Obama administration is denying reports by CBS News and the AP that Obama has decided to send nearly 40,000 reinforcements to Afghanistan.
Both outlets report that Obama has not received final recommendations from his advisers and he would then need time to review them.
Bloomberg cited an e-mailed statement by National Security Adviser Jim Jones that flatly denied a decision had been made by Obama.
Afghan theater Gen. Stanley McChrystal requested 40,000 to 80,000 troops in August saying the war could be lost in twelve months if his request is not met. Three months later Obama has yet to decide on that urgent request.

Both senior administration officials insisted Obama has not made any decision on troop levels in Afghanistan, noting the President has another meeting with his national security team on Wednesday to receive a final set of recommendations from the Pentagon brass. The senior officials said the president could not possibly make a decision on troop levels before even receiving the Pentagons final recommendations.
The leaks in question enraged White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, who had discussions today with Pentagon officials about the reports.>

lol
We should ask the White House that question - he was working for them..
Everything about this terrorist attack is rotten, from the top down
Nothing worse than a pissed off ballerina!
There was just something that didn’t smell right to me from the beginning with the Ft. Hood deal and the way the Army spokesperson was handling everything. So evasive yet sure to tell us all nothing to see here. Very strange. I don’tt know...I didn’t want to criticize but I just kept thinking something wasn’t right here.
LOL Humor is much appreciated!
Oh, heaven be...one must never do anything to enrage little, hot-head, foul mouthed, Rahm!
I think we’re being handed a load of BS on orders from the White House from spokesmen; there are more people who want the real story out and will make sure that happens.
Okay, I get it now after much researh. I’ve not gotten hazed here befoere. Whatever.
Go Colts.
I don’t think his delay has anything to do with his feelings about Muslims. My son served in Afghanistan with Special Forces in 2006. After talking with him I think the delay is because there is relatively little fighting there in the winter because of the travel and weather conditions. They should start deploying in January and February to get ready for the spring offensive. We shall see what the President actually does.
Poor frakin’ Rahm.
Call the sorry excuse of a man a damn wambulance.
I agree. Give them strength to do the right thing.
We mustn’t be too judgemental of Zero. He has to wait for orders from his Puppet-master, comrade George.
I agree with you.
I guess the White House fight with everybody! Fox, Republicans when they trying to be bi-partisan, Tea Baggers, Christians, Woman, Men. Let see they like Chavez, Castro, Che, and Ahmadinejad and everybody that don’t like The United States!!!!
“The White House would rather attack the Pentagon.”
Yes, he would rather attack the Pentagon, and the CIA, and the police, and seniors, and calls conservatives “teabag/anti-government” security threats. Yet he says “don’t jump to conclusions” about the world’s most obvious terrorist.
Bless our brave troops who have waited MONTHS while this guy votes present.
>>Ah, the era of a president who makes Carter seem smart.....
My tagline for much of 2008 was:
(Obama: Carter’s only chance to avoid going down in history as the worst U.S. president ever.)
I fear I am being proven correct.
Of course Rahm is “enraged”, Rahm calls the shots while Hussein goes out and reads what Rahm tells him to read.
No one jumps the gun and goes over Rahm’s head—INCLUDING HUSSEIN.
I have visions of this puke-butt's head exploding greasy grimey gopher guts all over the walls and halls of the WH...with any luck at all!
and dirty birdie feet . . . and mutilated monkey meat . . .
