"No wonder the Christian religion is going down in smoke when all we hear is how Christians should be praying for killers even if they hate you."
Read this and ask yourself who won in this particular skirmish:
Pope John Paul II Gunman Would Like to Convert to Christianity

ANKARA, Turkey The gunman who tried to assassinate Pope John Paul II would like to convert to Christianity at a baptism ceremony at the Vatican after his release from prison in January, according to his lawyer.
Over the years, Mehmet Ali Agca has made frequent claims that he is the Messiah or Jesus Christ, raising questions about his mental health and leading to speculation that he had converted to Christianity. "Agca is not formally a Christian," lawyer Haci Ali Ozhan told The Associated Press. "When he converts, he would like a baptism ceremony at the Vatican," Ozhan said, relaying comments Agca made during a recent prison meeting.
He declined to comment on Agca's mental state.
Agca shot and seriously wounded John Paul in St. Peter's Square 28 years ago, on May 13, 1981. The late pope met with Agca in an Italian prison in 1983 and forgave him.
Agca is currently serving a prison term for killing Turkish journalist Abdi Ipekci. The gunman is due to be released on Jan. 18, 2010.
At issue is whether prayer is a weakling's response or a supremely powerful weapon. I am not arguing against the use of other weapons in the war the West is in; far from it. But let's not neglect this one, or Jesus' commandment to love our enemies. Even as we battle them.

Agca is behind bars now, he was no more threat to POPE JOHN PAUL II ... POPE JOHN PAUL then could pray for him and meet him in safety.
If you were being chased by your enemy with the real threat of them killing you, what are you going to do ? stand there and pray and let them kill you ? ...

So I guess, if you had the wherewith all and the means, and the power to do so, if you were in Nazi Germany during WWII would you have just let the Jews get on the trains ? or fight the Nazi's ? and just “ PRAY FOR THEM “ ?
