Boehner just made a fool of Rangel. He asked if Rangel could guarantee that the Stupak amendment barring federal funds for abortion would be in the final bill. Rangel said he could not. Then he asked Rangel if he personally would guarantee he would vote to keep the Stupak admendment in the bill. Rangel said no. Boehner then said that “this is a sham” to get votes and that any promise on the Stupak amendment is meaningless. Rangel was left dumbfounded.

Rangel went further to say that he doesn't recall making deals with Republicans, or Boehner in particular.
