I understand why this government (for domestic political reasons) refuses to recognize this as a battlefield where a infiltrator enemy attacked our military in its most vulnerable point, its stateside families. I can’t understand why the media is playing the “nothing to see here move along” game.

Does anyone know what Hasan did before he joined the army? He joined when he was about 31 rather than as a youngster, so what did he do before the army? Did he spend time in the ME? He could have learned his hatred through a mosque, but I wonder if there was a more structured and intensive experience behind his belief and decision than just whatever was preached to him in the mosques. We understand that his deployment was the catalyst for the shooting, but how did he come to his violent support of the enemy?
