*** When I saw the Yankees spend 420 million on three free agents, I knew they would win. They merely bought a championship team. No sportsmanship here, just money. DAMN the Yankees! ***

Sometime before the Baseball Strike of 1981, the Yankees (George Steinbrenner) paid bought a Free Agent from the White Sox for +/-$800,000. It was 'HUGH' money at the time as the Sox player wasn't even a starter, didn't hit a lot of HRs and his batting avg sucked too. (Can't recall his name)

I knew then that 'The Game' that I knew as Baseball was finished. And Steinbrenner was the culprit.
