Military officials say the suspected shooter at Fort Hood was a psychiatrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for six years before being transferred to the Texas base in July. The officials had access to Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan's military record. They said he received a poor performance evaluation while at Walter Reed.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because military records are confidential.
The Virginia-born soldier was single with no children. He was 39 years old.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech University, where he was a member of the ROTC and earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1997. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001. At Walter Reed, he did his internship, residency and a fellowship.

All GIs who have to live in the proximity with Muslims should be allowed to be armed at all times.
All GIs who have to live in the proximity with Muslims should be allowed to be armed at all times.
Why are these “officials” talking about confidential military records so quickly?
All Americans who have to live in the proximity with Muslims should be armed at all times.
I note that his ORB shows “No Rel. Pref.”
I wonder how many other sleeper Moslems are in federal service?
They are exploiting political correctness that has idiots calling Islam “the religion of peace” and is shaking down Iowa grandmas at the airports so the jihadists get angry.
His cousin, who was interviewed by Shep Smith, states that he didn't even like to go to the firing range. It appears his cousin didn't know him as well as he claims.
Cousin had to be a Moslem disinformation plant.
...Or it wasn’t really his cousin who called Shep Smith.
Perhaps he (Hassan) had only recently determined what he was going to do. His cousin said he hadn’t talked to him in about 5 months.
Missed the “he hadnt talked to him in about 5 months” part.
Cousin (and some other family members) apparently talked to the press today. Usual pap.
Sounds to me like he wanted to martyr himself: maybe someone will help him fulfill his wish, and save the poor American Taxpayer (that would be us!) a nickle or two.
What bothers me is that the military guys knew he was a ticking time bomb for months and did nothing.
Post 104 BTTT .... 6 weeks ago started practice...
No he didn't, the medics found several more loaded maganzines.
The other ones with drawn weapons were civilian security employed by Ft. Hood.
Possibly, even probably.
It aint easy gettina weapon on that post. Which makes me wonder how he got them one. As a US Citizen, with no criminal record, he bought them. They have confirmed that the FN 5.7 was bought at "Guns Galore" (Love the name, but I've heard they aren't very customer friendly) It's not a US miltary weapon, we don't even use the caliber. (Save perhaps a few "special" units.) The maganzines and ammunition are redily available on line.
As to getting them on post, he probably just threw them in the trunk of his car, or under a blanket in the back seat footwells, and gambled that his would not be one of the cars stopped for inception that day. (It's been months since I was inspected). There are other possibilities, which I'll not speculate on.
Another early report wrong. He's at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, and off the ventilator. The lady cop who shot him is still in the hospital, but she's not dead either. Condition upgrades from "serious". I could practically spit and hit the hospital she and several other wounded victims are in.
Took CHL class 6 weeks ago. Most, but not all, folks are shooters long before taking the CHL class. If it's true that he took the class 6 weeks ago, he likely never got his license. It generally takes longer than that.
After I posted I saw where he fired more than 100 rounds. He had to reload many times. The initial report was the cops were there within 2 minutes. That means the guy was very qualified with these weapons which means it was planned for some time which means it was a terrorist act. Seems Joe Leiberman is the only one in D.C. willing to even consider it an act terrorism.
I made a delivery to Los Alamos a few years back and had to go through 3 check points with bomb sniffing dogs at every check. The sad thing is that once I got on base there were people running around all over the place in muslim dress. Seriously.
Seems to be a drive by poster. Before this thread his last post was in October of 2004. And it’s been over 4 days and he hasn’t posted anything since.
Noticed that too...thought he could be busy answering questions etc but it's been awhile now...
