I’m not suggesting that Muslims get special protection. I’m frankly saddened by the cowardice of the media when it comes ot thinkgs like the Muhammed cartoons. What I’m suggesting is that we don’t go to the other extreme and deny them essential liberties (what’s that Franklin quote about liberty and safety, again?) and persecute people who have done nothing wrong and do not intend to do anything wrong solely on the basis of their religion or ethnicity in a broad and indiscriminate way.
me neither but that guy just made it a lot harder for them to be trusted and thats not an easy thing. How are soldiers going to be able to trust any other serving muslim soldiers when this happens on a base?

Tarek Mehanna, of Sudbury, Mass., is accused of conspiring with two other men—Ahmad Abousamra, who authorities say is now in Syria, and an unnamed man who is now cooperating with authorities.
