"Bret Baier is saying the shooter was shot by a local police officer who was also killed." He was a Ft. Hood civilian cop. Most of the larger bases, since the massive reductions in forces in the early '90s, field both a military police force and a contracted civilian police force.

He was shot by a lady police officer and she is alive. This is kind of the year of the female. they seem to have the brass ones.
