I’m intrigued by the repeated comments that military bases are difficult to gain access to. Didn’t they report this morning about some teenagers that snuck onto a military facility?

Ft Hood is enormous, and has tens of thousands of people accessing it every day.

I have to show my military ID to get on base and who ever is with me doesn't have too.
HOWEVER, Sometimes there is 100% ID check, which means EVERYONE in the vehicle must show their ID or sign in to where they are going.

Problem with military installations is that they are all "gun free" zones just like some shopping centers and other large public areas.
While there are MPs, there really is no self-defense policy in place since the individual is basically screwed if a terrorist starts shooting the place up.
