MADISON, Wis. (Reuters) - A year after his historic election, President Barack Obama sought to remind Americans on Wednesday the biggest problems he is grappling with -- from the economy to the war in Afghanistan -- are the legacy of his predecessor, George W. Bush. With his approval ratings down from once-lofty levels and Tuesday's Democratic election losses raising questions about his political clout, Obama held no special ceremony to mark the anniversary of his election as America's first black president.

“We had record deficits, two wars, frayed alliances around the world,” Obama added.

And we had/have Democrats in control of both houses of Congress!

Ain’t that the truth, God knows what they will finally do with the decision on whether or not to put the Gitmo Detainees on trial in the US.

I hear there is practically a civil war going on right now in the Department of Defense.

I think the public is going to melt down if the 911 planner gets off because Bush didn’t read the guy his rights.

Dear Mr. President,

From one democrat to another, if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

And by the way, the next time you're in the Oval office please realize that the buck stops there!

Love and kisses,
Harry T.

President Barack Obama sought to remind Americans on Wednesday the biggest problems he is grappling with -- from the economy to the war in Afghanistan -- are the legacy of his predecessor, George W. Bush.

The 'blame Bush' routine would have some validity if Obama were doing anything to fix the problems.

Since he's making them worse, he owns 'em.

He is likely kicking himself for the bad luck of wining the election.

I disagree. I think he wanted to win. It is probaly impossible to pull of a successful Presidential election in modern times if you don’t want to win. On election night (2008), Michelle apparently told him that they’d never have to worry about money again. That is true and I’m sure getting rich off the job was part of his motivation. The other part is that he probably picked up a Messiah complex along the way.

That being said, now that he’s been in the job a while, he’s figured out that he can’t make things happen just by giving speeches. Most adults know this, but I’m not sure he did as he probably believed his own press. He is probably very frustrated and (I predict) he will get burned out rather quickly. By the three year point, a lot of his enthusiasm and charisma may disappear along with his youthful appearance.

Hey Obama, try dealing with a 9/11 within 9 months of your presidency, you whiner. You would hide under your desk for a year.

-13nobama: It’s not my fault that nasty old George Bush left me with a pile of problems.

Quit whining and playing golf and wasting our tax dollars and do something productive for a change. Like taking the rest of the year off.

In a way, Obama is Bush’s fault — he should’ve warned us about him together with Cheney and everyone involved with our national security.

Well then, Obama, why don't you step down and let someone with cajones take care of those problems. Someone that knows what they are doing. You skinny wimp!!!

We should run ads in 2012, everything that is wrong in the US is Bush’s Fault and Obama hasn’t and can’t fix it. Time to get a new leader that can.
