I am yesterday’s news. NY23.
Yea, I saw a lot up there. I am reluctant to write about it here … I’ll have to think about it. (Join a campaign and then post online everything that was wrong with it?)
I’ve been in incompetent campaigns before, but the ground game on this one was so bad, it was disgusting. The campaign existed in the minds of Fox News and Hannity. Hundreds of people wanting to talk about this race, but zero help actually in the district … much of the district. Plenty of glory hounds, who showed up the last week, joined staff and promptly declared victory. They are still sending out emails saying that this was a victory and that it will look good on their resume for many years.
We needed a fieldmarshal.
If that was our best effort, we are in serious trouble.
Sounds like the same thing with the other NY special for the Gillibrand seat.
Unfortunate.
Republicans won’t win back the house running poor campaigns like that.
The silly Tedisco campaign in NY20 was a work of genius compared to some of the stuff I saw in NY23. It doesn’t so much reflect on the campaign as it does on the rank & file.
The rank in file in my county were named Larry, Curly and Moe. Their mothers named them appropriately.
