That’s an interesting thought. If Christie gets elected then if old Sen Louse-enberg cannot serve until 2014, the Republican governor gets to appoint his replacement. How much shall we bet that the minute Christie gets into office the Demo legislature votes to do what they did in MA and CT and mandate a special election instead??

They won't need to. Lautenberg's seat is already illegally held. His placement on the ballot was in violation of state law. All the Dems in NJ need is a judge.

If the Legislature passes any such law, Christie could veto it and have the veto sustained.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves :)
