Christian critical of Islamization of society, Orthodox church jailed without charges.
A Coptic Christian blogger in Egypt entering his second year of prison without charge is being pressured to convert to Islam in exchange for his freedom...
On Oct. 3, 2008, Hani Nazeer, a 28-year-old high school social worker from Qena, Egypt and author of the blog Karz El Hob (Love Cherries), was arrested by Egypts State Security Investigations (SSI) and sent to Burj Al-Arab prison. Although police never charged him with any crime, Nazeer has been detained for more than a year under Egypts administrative imprisonment law.
Gamel Eid, executive director of the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI), the group representing Nazeer, said Nazeer was arrested unfairly and now is being coerced to abandon his faith.
Nazeer is confined in what is commonly known as the general population area of the prison, meaning he is housed with both violent and non-violent felons. Nazeer told his attorneys he is often treated harshly. Despite this, Eid said Nazeer is constant in his faith.
Insulting religion is considered a crime in Egypt, although typically the law is only enforced when Islam is criticized. Police have not publicly produced any evidence linking Nazeer to Utahs work. After Nazeer was arrested, posts continued on Utahs website...

Will keep him in my prayers.
Anyone else remember the hellstorm Ann Coulter received when she suggested forced conversions to Christianity for Muslims?
Sounds like PC run amok. Coming soon to a country near you?
More like Islam run amok. There is nothing PC about Islam.
And yes, I fear it very well may come to the USA.
The same thing is very likely going on in prisons all over America.
I blame Bush.
after 9/11 he should have bombed Egypt and Saudi Arabia for harboring and nurturing the terrorist who came from and trained in these anti American bastions.
I can't get the picture of 43 holding hands and worse with that POS Saudi prince
Nothing PC about Islam it's true, but the elites (msm, hollyweird, the 0bama lemmings) all treat Islam as a 'protected minority'. What the fools don't realize is that if sharia law ever really took hold, they'd be the first ones eliminated. After all, muzzies hate atheists and homosexuals even more than Christians. I guess thats what I was trying to say.
You’re absolutely right about the way the PC crowd treats Islam. I often wonder if fear is the reason they don’t bother to mention the treatment of homosexuals, non-muslims, and women. Or, perhaps they consider themselves “protected.” I suppose rose-coloured glasses are nice while they last.
When faced with irrationality, often the best response is to be irrational back. In this case, those that imprisoned him need to be convinced that he is more threatening in prison than he is if set free.
This could be done by his friends sanctifying him. That is, start to attribute to him things that both the Muslims and the Coptic bishop find threatening. All unconfirmed rumor of course.
For example, the idea that “inspired by his persecution”, several young Muslim men have secretly converted to Christianity, and are now preaching to Muslims. And the longer he is kept in prison, the more inspiring he becomes, as a “persecuted saint”.
Likewise, implicate the Coptic Bishop Kirollos as secretly practicing non-Christian rituals of an unknown type. (Which needs to be done subtly). Acts of superstition and repetition that raise eyebrows. Like why, when he walks, does he avoid stepping on cracks?
Impossible to verify, of course, but such things are looked at askance and put the bishop under suspicion.
Done with some care, so as not to endanger him, this sort of thing is very distracting to oppressors of this type.
But the stinkin’ Muslims can insult any religion they want. Allah is not my G-d or the Christians’ G-d.I don’t give a damn what anyone tells me.
What in the hell?.....
somebody always has to blame Bush.
I was responding to the pictures of Bush, not what you said.
