Michael Steele, and apparently much of the Republican leadership live in a different reality than those their Political Party leadership is supposed to serve.

The gathering of substantial funding from dubious sources with conditions attached seems to be preferred to the gathering of funding from substantial quantities of true supporters of the traditional Conservative platform.

That platform today is but a faded billboard at the side of what used to be the major highway.

I guess their lowly conservative supporters don't throw nice enough parties. I'm increasingly convinced that Republican "leadership" is in it for the fringe benefits of being a DC "insider".
