Detroit may be trying to repair it's public image by calling Devil's Night Angel's night but the fact is Detroit is infamous for the arson spree taking place on Halloween night. Firefighters will face another night of it on Saturday and though the fires now don't burn like they did in the 80's and 90's the danger is still there.
Right now, as this post is typed, Detroit firefighters are operating on a heavily invloved structure on Casper Street. It's nothing new to Detroit. Fire activity has been high for 35 years as Detroit has gone from a city to a war zone. Through it all the bravest in Detroit have stood fast, protecting the city from itself.
Arson strikes Detroit hard every October because there are no shortages of buildings to burn. The derelict structures are everywhere and preventing the fires is almost impossible. Thus, every year, firefighters face the same challenges with fewer firefighters. The city, through a series of corrupt officials, has one department that remains committed to protecting Detroit and the fire department soldiers on fighting fires and ignorance.
Not when you think about moving there.
You can purchase a home in Detroit for two thousand dollars.
And if one were free and a mansion you nor I would move there.
“Speaking of democrats, where is Obama’s homey Kwame Kilpatrick hiding these days? “
He’s living the good life in Texas, 2800 sq foot home, his and her Escalades. He owes Detroit a million dollars, but is whining that he can’t afford the payments. He was just back in Detroit before the judge, where he stated that he doesn’t know who pays the rent on his home, and he doesn’t know if his wife works.
Think of it rather as aggressive urban renewal.
25% of the city needs burned down and the city cannot afford to demolish them
From the pictures posted earlier it will save the taxpayers some money. I would let some of them just burn to the ground.

Why don’t you show us the way you first with the trouble part of your city!
All that’s left are the helpless and the hopeless; they need dedicated moving van drivers.
Seeing those videos makes me sick to my stomach in the worst kind of way

Me too it gives me great pain I left Detroit in 1972 to NYC.
I lived in the city from 64 to 72 after the 1968 roits it never was the same.
It was corrupt politicians before then but then the minorities wanted more control they could do better and it all when downhill from there because the Marxist minority got control not the good folks!
Same way in 70’s 80’s harlem NY until Giuliani became Mayor then all that foolishness stop, the good working taxing paying folks there are the ones who pay dearly
I have experience the Detroit Marxist black hearts were so harden that you could not be cordial if you were you were insulted and intimidated.
In those days it was hard to understand where it was coming from now looking back it was the communist indoctrination that created this divide.
Many lied and never keep their word and made it hard for other in their race to speak up because they knew of the intimidation far worst living in among the communist.
I guess you could say the good Muslims are going through the same thing today
Street organizers are nothing but bullies!
My city has been condemning apartment complexes left and right because they are becoming run down. This city does not want to turn into Detroit or Chicago or even Dallas.
Most likely you won’t it one thing when things are run down
it is call urban renew in many parts of the NYC they did that because they had the yuppi boom and needed place to live there was money to be made.
The older generation knew the value of things but yuppies how sweet it was came right out of school making top dollar no paying their dues like the older generation and they caused the price of thing to go up because of their high saleries where as the older generation would have said no even if they had the money.
Detroit and other leading cities were to be destroyed because too much free enterprise was going on not on the Marxist agenda.
NYC was already thought of Moscow on the Hudson so it was spared.
As if burning down Detroit is a bad idea...
What a shame and the unions own most of the blame here.
The 1968 Riots You Damage and destroy peoples property you get shot, that riot should have lasted 30 minutes.
With respect, it was 1967, I was 4 and Chicken Pox’s. I have seen some special on PBS about the Roit.
They had an Officer on that said if they started shooting, they wouldn’t have had enough bullets.
Also LBJ didn’t want the Army to have bullets in the guns. He didn’t “Have those boys shoot a pregent N****r”
I quoted him, didn’t want to spell it out.

If they did shoot it would have stopped Right then!!! instead they let this go and look at the results right up to today we cower while 12% of the population gets upset. Bullcrap this is what has propagated this Hate Whitey madness.
Detroit is one of the few cities where property values would RISE if a few houses were burnt to the ground....
All I was doing saying what I have seen on PBS, true or not, don’t know, I was only four at the time.
It all started by DPD raiding a Blind Pig. Detroit has gone into the outhouse after that.
Sad very sad, a lot of great houses are now in landfills.
