So, have they now consolidated the GAO with the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Use?

If the internet does not crash when everyone is home during
Christmas holiday, breaking open laptops and new
internet-based games NOW, why would it happen with a “Pandemic.”

Pandemics don't strike ALL of the cities in a country the size of the US ...
... at equal strength ...
... ALL at once ...

Fear mongering by people who do not understand the technology.

IMHO...what this is “telling” us ..is that in the event of an “emergency” the Executive branch has a button in the Oval Office that will effectively activate a server swarm at NSA to choke the internet.

I have worked from home, and did have some serious issues whenever school was snowed-out and all the neighborhood kiddies were spending the day on iTunes and YouTube. It would play hell with my VOIP phone among other things. Now that we’re wired with FIOS I suspect it’s not a problem.

Pretty transparent then what they are doing. FR and RushLimbaugh.com would be the first to go, I’m sure.

In the event of an emergency and all the people are home sick instead of being at work on their computers using up bandwidth, they will be at home with fewer computers to use up bandwidth. So even though the bandwidth use potential is much less with people staying home, they need to be able to shut down the internet just in case.

Yeah uh, that’s the ticket. We’ll just shut down the internet. We’ve already declared H1N1 surely we can use that crisis to shut down something. Too many people listening to Rush and watching Fox over the internet anyway./s

What a simply retarded premise!

The free market will always make sure there is plenty of bandwidth available.

Could they stretch their arms any further to reach for an excuse to shut down communications for the common people???
