Windsor, Ontario: Police chief apologizes to Muslims for offending them during FBI arrests
SNIPPET: Now can we get an apology from the Muslim community for aiding and abetting jihadists? Windsor police chief Gary Smith apologizes to Islamic community for offending their beliefs during FBI arrests, from The Windsor Star, November 12 (thanks to Simeon):
WINDSOR, Ont. Windsor police chief Gary Smith has apologized to members of Windsors Islamic community for offending their beliefs after officers arresting two FBI suspects at gunpoint patted down one of their wives.
It was never the intention for Windsor police officers to offend or embarrass the families of our Islamic community, writes Smith in a press release issued by police this morning. The actions taken did cause embarrassment and did offend their religious beliefs. I sincerely apologize to the families and the Islamic community....
A review of the incident highlighted the need for additional cultural sensitivity training, said the release, and Dr. Murad Aktas has been tapped to provide it. Details have yet to be worked out.
John Conyers trying to get the civil rights division of the DOJ to second guess the FBI and local cops should be headlines all over the country.
His committee has jurisdiction not just over the courts but subversion concerning the internal security of the United States.
We have to get him and the others out of power...they can’t be chairing committees.
Speaking of Conyers, here’s a copy of the letter he sent to Holder:

SNIPPET: “That’s what he tried to do as agents moved in, killing a police canine instead of surrendering. The campaign that began almost immediately after Abdullah died is based on a premise that his firing the first shot should not have prompted agents to return fire.
Leading the charge is Dawud Walid, head of the Council on American-Relations’ (CAIR) Michigan chapter.”
SNIPPET: “CAIR is not alone in conjuring up the controversy. The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), which has emerged as a new outreach partner for the federal government, also chimed in with a call for an independent investigation.”
SNIPPET: “In addition, U.S. Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, wrote to Attorney General Eric Holder requesting independent investigations by the DOJ Civil Rights Division in a letter that could have been written by CAIR.
Conyers also raised the issue of FBI informants, echoing a campaign waged by CAIR, MPAC and others during the past year despite their assistance in a torrent of prosecutions and disrupted plots.”

“CAIR-Michigan Sues Over Slaim Imam FOIAs”
by IPT News Aug 9, 2010 at 12:51 pm
SNIPPET: “The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) Michigan chapter has filed a lawsuit against the Michigan State Police for denying Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, the group announced. The FOIAs requested detailed information on the events leading up to the death of Luqman Abdullah, a Detroit imam who was killed in an October 2009 FBI raid. FBI agents say they returned fire after Abdullah refused to surrender and fired first.”
SNIPPET: “Since the shooting, CAIR-Michigan has gone to great lengths to try to discredit the FBI’s decision to return fire on Abdullah, even hiring a pathologist to do a second independent autopsy of the body. The county medical examiner took issue with the results of CAIR’s autopsy, which concluded that Abdullah’s jaw was broken by a dog attack and that he had dog bites on his upper body. The second autopsy was performed only by examining photos.”

From photos alone, CAIR could tell someone's jaw was broken by a dog? What is the frequency of dog jaw-breaking in the annals of non-photo autopsy?

“CAIR Blasts Investigation for Not Agreeing with Them”
by IPT News Oct 14, 2010 at 11:07 pm
SNIPPET: “Leaders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Michigan chapter are blasting a Justice Department review of last year’s shooting death of a Detroit imam after the review found agents acted appropriately.
CAIR officials have spent the past year trying to cast the shooting as unjust and excessive. They were joined at a news conference Thursday by leaders of several community groups and Imam Luqman Abdullah’s son. Dawud Walid, CAIR’s Michigan director, called the DOJ review “superficial and incomplete” and demanded the Justice Department examine the tactics used in the arrest, which featured SWAT teams and officers from numerous agencies.
The DOJ investigation, as probes by the Michigan Attorney General and Dearborn police before it, made it clear that Abdullah’s history of threatening law enforcement and other inflammatory rhetoric was at the forefront of agents’ thinking. Still, Walid and CAIR attorney Lena Masri cast the “military-type operation” as excessive and something that should be reserved for terrorists or drug kingpins.”
