They appeared healthy with no fleas. My dtr used to have gerbils so mice don’t bother me. When they get a little older I’ll set the mouse box out. They jump in to get the food, but its too high for them to jump out. I take them to the woods or Mouse Mountain and turn them loose. I messed up and left some bird seed in a box by the dryer and that is what attracted them. Even varmints have a right to live. But you’re right. No good deed goes unpunished when you do it for people but animals have never bothered me.
