You may want to re-read what I wrote, this is exactly what I'm saying. You, from the outside looking in see their religion as bizarre, however, for those on the inside, it seems perfectly normal and they would have trouble seeing why you view their religion this way.

This isn't a statement on if something is or isn't bizarre, but the perception based on what side you are looking at it from.

Even mainstream Christianity can seem bizarre to someone looking at it from the outside who hasn't been culturally exposed to it all his life.
