Rep. Alan Grayson, Democrat of Florida, used a speech on the House floor to send people to a website run by his campaign, that links to his full campaign website (including donate page), and the DCCC website. The website is about people who have supposedly died from lack of health care.

New Alan Grayson Website Violates House Ethics Rules
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 3:21 PM
Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) just took to the House floor to announce his new website, “Names of the Dead”. According to the website:
Every year, more than 44,000 Americans die simply because have no health insurance.
I have created this project in their memory. I hope that honoring them will help us end this senseless loss of American lives. If you have lost a loved one, please share the story of that loved one with us. Help us ensure that their legacy is a more just America, where every life that can be saved will be saved.
I’m told this may be an ethics violation because the site was created out of his House office. Developing ...
Update:
The rules in the congressional handbook House Ethics Manual (p. 131) which it seems to violate are as follows:
Member and Committee Websites: Under rules issued by the Committee on House Administration set forth in the Members Handbook and the Committees Handbook, Member and Committee websites
- May not include personal, political, or campaign information; and
- May not be directly linked or refer to websites created or operated by a campaign or any campaign-related entity, including political parties and campaign committees.
This website is clearly a violation of the above rules.
The disclaimer says “Paid for by Congressman Alan Grayson,” but includes links to his campaign website, etc..
There was an earlier thread about this website (www.namesof thedead.com) that said the site was mainly to collect email addresses for campaign donation requests as that was the only required info you had to put in. Gee, it would be a shame if people were to go there and put in email addresses of people like Pelosi and Reid so they would get spam from their boy Grayson. Their email addresses are probably on their .gov pages.
I believe Jabba here is a freshman. I would like to see what his hometown newspaper the Orlando Slantinel has to say about him. I think he's one of the 30-40 seats that the Dems will lose.
I don’t know.
In Obamaland you have to take in to account groups like ACORN, “empathic” judges, activists throwing out military ballots, etc.
Remember: most the stimulus money doesn’t get spent until late 2010 - and I’m sure a good chunk of it will pour in to Grayson’s district.
The Orlando Slantinel is Very Bias Junior Edition of the New York Slimes!!!!!!
Good only for Coupons, bird cages and packing material!
“not the tightest bolt on the wreck..eh?”
Love it ... I will add that he is also a sandwich shy of a picnic ... with this type of behavior, he can kiss his seat goodbye.
Hate, vitriol, savagery.... Yet it is Glen, Rush, and the right who are coarsening political dialog? What a joke.
I can’t believe the democrats haven’t pulled him aside and told him to STFU.
The Orlando Slantinel is owned by the Tribune Co. (As in Chicago Tribune.
I think that is illegal.
