I've done my homework and settled on this as the perfect "netbook++". The first thing I'm going to do is wipe Windows 7 and install Ubuntu.

Suh-weeet! I do most of my writing on a 1998 Macbook running Debian. Thing weighs 7 lbs, but it rarely moves off my desk.
