I don't know, it might be best to resist forcefully but peacefully for the time being and hope for a good housecleaning come 2010.

But if the "progress" of this administration and Congress continues unabated, then I'm not ashamed to say I hope such a thing would happen BITL.

There are two other branches of government but, unfortunately, the present Congress won't know the coming impeachable offense if it were up their kazoo. The Supreme Court might (see Honduras, but keep in mind the Present Occupant hasn't gone full Hugo yet). Best we can hope now is for the next Congress to force a full abandonment of the agenda. That will require a mandate as was delivered to the Sinkmaster in 1994, but this time it can't be squandered.
