She said she just heard on the radio that a 6 year old child had accidentally taken off in some kind of experimental aircraft in Larimer County, CO. Cannot find news article on this. Do you know anything?

I can’t help but wonder if he ran off and hid when the balloon started moving up.

CO National Guard is launching a rescue chopper.
One side of the balloon is flopping-over.

No I don’t think he was running away. He is a little kid, he probably thought it was fun to go in there

Appears to be holding at 8,000 ft. May be heading toward Denver.

It is east of the mountains and it is windy with wind out of the west today in Colorado.

It’s a beautiful picture with the mountains in the background.
It’s hard to tell if it’s loosing gas or if the helium has just shifted to one side. The flat/flopping side may slow it down some.

There is no way that balloon is a mile & a half high. I say a couple of thousand feet at most.

I hope he was wearing a jacket.
They are concerned that the thin plywood capsule is too weak to handle a hard landing.

Does that look like an ambulance following it?
To: NEMDF

A telephoto lens can distort perspective, but when they showed the cars on the ground trying to follow it, it definitely appeared to be lower than 8,000 ft.

Just for giggles, I called Goodyear and they said they’d pass on the info. I also told the Goodyear lady to contact any other companies who might have an airship, just in case they didn’t have one near.

It looks like an Army Blackhawk helicopter may have just showed up.

It does not look very high, but the wind looks strong. For those with no TV it is shaped like a silver flying saucer with a basket attached directly underneath.
