Isn't it a little dishonest to shout from the rooftops the one article from this source where the reporter apparently got his facts all muddled up while at the same time ignoring the countless other articles from this same source that retracted the error?

A retraction would include citing the source of the error. None of the references you posted cited the June 2004 article you claim to be in error.
