“No one knows what the future holds. Talking about the end of America has nothing to do with reality and everything to do with defeatism.”

It’s not defeatism to counter the idea that we will last forever at our current power. Assuming that is the quickest way to end us.

“The libertarian philosophy of Ronpaul calls for serious cuts in America’s national defense budget. The nuclear arsenal of weapons is part of America’s national defense budget.”

He’s against foreign aid and defending countries that can defend themselves. Where has he said he wants to cut our nuclear arsenal? He DOES want to defend our borders, something the RINOs we both detest refuse to do.

“So, when was the last time Ronpaul voted for a Defense Appropriations bill?”

Lots of R’s are voting against the 2010 bill for very good reasons. Quite a few of those defense bills were not actually about OUR defense and many have repugnant riders attached... like the 2010 bill.

The reality is, America is alive and kicking. No thanks to Ronpaul. The fact libertarians don't want America to be a major player in world affairs is akin to a defeatist mindset. The same mindset that is found in liberal Democrats.

Direct foreign aid is a drop in the bucket. The only people I know who object to foreign aid of any kind are liberals and libertarians. I guess if we lived in a perfect world without violence and aggression there would be no need for foreign aid. Well, we don't live in a perfect world built on idealism. The US taxpayer gets a big bang for its buck and a positive return on its money when we properly fund a strong military and national defense capability. Freedom is not free. Same goes for foreign aid. OTOH, welfare state spending is unconstitutional and the real enemy to our Republic. Keeping America free is job #1 for our elected officials. Same today as it was in the Founding Fathers time.

I ask you again. When was the last time Ronpaul voted for a Defense Appropriations bill? You know, the actual budget expenditure that funds America's nuclear weapons arsenal.
